Welcome to the Senate Committee on Governance and Finance’s website.

As Committee Chair, I am honored to serve you and am proud to work on issues making state and local governments work together, efficiently and effectively.

Each year, legislators pass hundreds of bills. State legislators work diligently to fully understand how those bills affect local services; however, when local officials may be in better positions to understand the communities’ priorities, your advice is essential. I urge you to write to us with your suggestions.

The Committee is proud to offer a public e-mail address where you are welcome to send your correspondence. Though we monitor this email account regularly, your email messages of support or opposition to specific bills may not appear in the Committee’s bill analyses. If you want your position to be reflected in the analysis, please send a fax or a signed letter no later than the Wednesday before the hearing date when the bill is set to be heard.

I hope that you will look to the Committee as a valuable resource. This website offers a lot of information about our bill hearings, informational hearings, committee member contact information, FAQs, Committee-generated reports, reference materials, and announcements.
